*NEW* NOVEMBER 2020 PUBLIC TALK ~ “At the Kitchen Table: Magic, Medicine, and Mastery #5”
A 10-year conversation with Laura Clarke Stelmok and Travis Laplante

This is a long conversation between two old friends who met a long time ago. He was a boy and I was a woman at midlife.  And we began a conversation. We began that conversation inside an ancient tradition of medicine, which for reasons I will never understand, was waiting for a small group of physicians to make a link with antiquity for the devastating crisis that we are living on Earth today.

This is the fifth gathering of this conversation: "Magic Medicine and Mastery."

There is something of this conversation tonight, or maybe this year, it is possible to feel the link with antiquity that a living tradition is. And maybe because of meeting you, maybe years before we came to this school, the conversation about art, the expression of the soul of the longing of humanity was a way to focus this inheritance.  Art is to a human being, as essential as an acorn is to an oak tree.

*NEW* JULY 2019 PUBLIC TALK PUTNEY, VT (JULY) ~ “Heaven, Earth, Human: The Forgotten Conversation”
An annual conversation.

It is really a miracle, I would say, to be in the presence of a living tradition that guards the purpose of the human heart. And in particular guards the purpose of the human heart in relationship to the purpose of the Earth Herself. This is a tradition that comes from a time where, what we now call spiritual tradition was..a way of living. A way of receiving the gift of a human birth. How to receive it, how to live it, how to give it back to the source from which it came. We have a very strange understanding in North America right now of what we call “spiritual traditions.” In many cases they are pieces of ancient lineages that have been cut up and scattered. Sometimes for good reason, to preserve essential knowings of humanity. But often, probably the most destructive force is materialism. Taking what we want and leaving what is inconvenient, too difficult or no longer makes sense to us.

2019 PUBLIC TALK MONTRÉAL, QUEBEC
"The Alchemical Tradition at the root of Taoist Medicine: The 7 Dragons and The 13 Ghost Points”

I could work twenty four hours a day three hundred and sixty days a year because of the need of these protocols. When there is a tear or a confusion in the weave of the spirits, much of our medicine can’t reach the root. When you put your hand on the vital life force of another human being, can you enter the void of the heart? Can you enter eternity? This is what we are here to live. We can be in the back wards of an asylum. We can be in prisons. We can be in mansions or we can live on the streets. Something in the human being that is looking for something real. And this is a tradition that’s guarded that. I would never have imagined that my life would be living in these two protocols. The Song of the 13 ghost Points. The Song of the 7 Dragons. The Ode of the 7 Dragons restores the weave of a human being. As above, so below. It retrieves a human being from… well.. at best, a narrow life, and at worst a life of extreme torment.  It is not only the patient, but us, the physicians. It restores our vocation internally.

2016 SUMMER RETREAT: SONG OF THE 7 DRAGONS

The Song of the Dragons is magic.  Very ancient, very powerful magic. We are here to remember what is being returned.  The place of this remembrance is this group.  What is magic?  What is medicine?  We have been gathered in the heart of the masters.  Inside a song of articulate fire, the marriage of heaven and earth.

To restore the presence of the holy breath.  Let us speak of communion.  To be with God in the presence of Her world. The Song of the Dragons comes from the very beginning when the masters of love walked this earth, singing the names of creation alive.  Every soul has a note.  The earth and all of her every inhabitant exists to express the love of God.  Out of darkness let there be light.

NEW! 2016 SPRING RETREAT: SECRETS OF LOVE

"The Song of the 12 Points Shining Bright as the Starry Sky and Able to Heal All the Many Diseases" is a secret, very deep in your heart, left for you to find.  There is a tradition of those who listen to the secret of love inside of life itself, inside of the soul’s incarnation on earth.  Living the Song of the Starry Sky will break the curse, heal the disease, sever the attachment holding the wayfarer to the past or the future.  Through the maze of one’s mind and this world, the veils of light and dark, this living Song sings the forgotten promise of the soul’s union with God.  By Her hand the secret of love is revealed.

2 CLINIC TALKS ~ STILLPOINT ACUPUNCTURE CLINIC, ROCKLAND, ME
2016 “The Door of Life: Taoist 5 Element Acupuncture”
2015 “To the Root": Taoist 5 Element Acupuncture"

The Chinese have a wonderful way of understanding illness. You know the ancient Taoist did not have the same separation between faith and science that we do now. They weren’t opposing forces. They understood Heaven, the greatest gift of Heaven to be the laws of nature. You watched the deepest intelligence of life in the way that the earth changed season. They didn’t see that as a separate…. they did not see God and nature as something separate. Physicians are guardians of life and death. There was a time when that was the greatest honor, to be someone who guarded life. You would be born into that task…one of the greatest honors there was because your responsibility was to guard for your childrens’, childrens’, children. The masters have taken birth through time to guard life. The Taoists were not just Chinese and the Taoists aren’t now only Chinese. Those that guard life and how are they trained to be able to do that. It is rigorous. The door of life: integrity, vitality, and majesty is the human heart. It is an organ of consciousness. It is not just a pump. It carries the memory of all the names in creation.

2014 SPRING RETREAT / Opening Talk: The 12 Points Shining Bright as the Starry Sky and Able to Heal All Disease.

The three worms destroy the three spirits.  The human has to be changed until she or he can become a receptacle for the nonhuman.  To be changed until she or he does not interfere with the non-human dimension.  The shen are not human.  Alchemy is a medicine.  It is our longing made incarnate.  It is a discipline that only the maddest of people are interested in.  It reverses the creative shen cycle.  It reverses the natural order, the way, the momentum of the turning of the seasons.  And it does not do this randomly. The promise of staying in the vessel is that you will be made more simple.  Spiritual life is a path of losing.  We are revealed.  The sculptor, whether we name that sculptor the Tao, or God, or the wind, reveals the inherent essence of who you are.
